Geotextiles are used in constructions of roads, rubbish dumps, car parks, pavements, maneuvering squares, reinforcement of scarps, slopes and embankments. They are used to stabilize the ground/substrate since they increase stability and soil bearing capacity of of fine-grained soils. Geotextiles protect against erosion, filter and reinforce the ground, separate the bulk soil from the substrate in such way that there is no mixing of the layers, act as a filter in drainage systems where there is danger of clogging of fine particles of soil.
